Journal of Colonialism and Colonial History

Papers may be submitted in either MLA format or the Chicago Manuel Style. Submissions must be at least 15 pages and may not exceed 35 pages (in both cases including citations and endnotes). Do not add "p.", "pp." or "page". Use page numbers only. Century numbers should be written out. Example: Seventeenth instead of 17^th.

Please supply an abstract of 100 or fewer words with your paper. Include your name and affiliation on the abstract. No name or affiliation should appear on the body of the paper. Your paper should have the title only.

All articles and documents will be submitted to the referee process. We will attempt to respond to submissions within three months or less.

Authors Guide: Disk submissions must be in plain ASCII, ASCII with HTML tags, Microsoft Word or Word Perfect. Microsoft Word on a PC is the preferred choice for file formatting reasons. Preferred typeface is Times New Roman. Hard copy should accompany the disk if sent by regular mail, or be forwarded if submissions are sent via the Internet.

Because we are an on line publication it is possible to publish photographs, sound, animations, and full-motion video along with the texts.

You must provide appropriate permissions in order to use photographs, recordings, drawings, or video. Or any materials that are produced by persons other than the authors of submissions to the journal.
